The resistivity of aluminum rods is generally between 2.65×10^-8 Ω·m and 2.82×10^-8 Ω·m. The specific value is affected by multiple factors such as the purity, temperature and structure of the aluminum. In addition, the resistivity of aluminum increases with temperature, so the effect of temperature changes on resistivity needs to be considered in practical applications.
The resistivity of aluminum has certain advantages compared to other metals such as copper and iron. At 20°C, the resistivity of copper is 1.75×10^-8 Ω·m, that of aluminum is 2.83×10^-8 Ω·m, and that of iron is 9.78×10^-8 Ω·m. These data show that aluminum conducts electricity better than iron but slightly worse than copper.
